Cleaning a brick floor?

Mary B asked:

In the house that I rent, there is a brick floor in one of the rooms (strange, I know). I have a puppy, and he’s used this as a bathroom more than once. We clean up individual messes, but it’s not doing the trick. I need to take everything out of the room and clean the floor.
My question – how should I do this?
Mop and a bucket of soapy water? Does anyone have better suggestions?

Clorox would take out the color….let it soak then scrub with a boar-hair brush then set water on top of where you put the Clorox let dry.

    GOOD LUCK

Some of the carpet cleaning companies that have those machines mounted inside of their trucks can steam clean it. They can also do grout in the bathroom.

As for DIY…….I would probably try mopping with some pinesol. You might need to use a scrub brush and then mop up the excess water as you go.

You can buy special cleaning agents at Home Depot/Lowes. Its for cleaning stone, brick and coarse tile products. I used some on my brick fireplaces and it worked pretty good. Just let it sit for a bit before rinsing with a clean water mop.

mix bleach and water and mop, if it is a stain, pour bleach directly on it and let it set for 30 minutes or so then mop and let dry. good as new
